Images from my Wandering Eye

A foggy morning.  I love the forest around our house and constantly find new images lingering there as light trickles through the leaves and branches.

Sunrise on Fire

Sunrise on Fire

I tweeked the exposure on this one to enhance the red of the early light against the blue sky.  My preference has always been to get what I want at exposure anduse post processing to fix defects.

The Embrace

The Embrace

It was a month or so ago and I had the opportunity to be near the beach in Florida.  One morning after a long run that I used to work through some problems I walked out to the beach to watch the sunrise.  This is what greeted me.  The smell and feel of the salt air and sound of waves crashing all around made me feel very transparent.

The fall of 2011 in New England was particularly quick and colorless because, I’m told, we had a very wet summer.  It ended abruptly with an out of season snowstorm that dropped 12 inches of wet snow on our forest.  With leaves still on the trees there was a lot of devastation and a loss of power for over 7 days.  Going through some of my old shots I came across this reminder of just how beautiful fall is when all the elements come together…
